Parkland Hospital Parking Garage Sky Bridge Project

The parking garage was designed to provide easy access to care for breast cancer patients at the new Moody Center for Breast Health at the Parkland Health & Hospital System in Dallas, Texas. The solution was a spacious, six-story, freestanding parking garage with exquisite architectural metal installations that attaches to the main building via a sky bridge.

Perforated metal was chosen for the five-story façade and sky bridge due to its aesthetic appeal and the ability to provide the ventilation required in a parking structure. The goal was to build a structure that complements the hospital’s tasteful modern architecture as much as possible. The hospital’s glass-clad façade consists of various shades of gray that blend together, making perforated aluminum panels the perfect finishing touch.

The garage was designed by Beck Architecture to include a perforated façade. KSC, Inc., an architectural façade system design firm, collaborated to create a visually appealing, custom corrugated and perforated façade. Accurate Perforating was selected by KSC to manufacture and install the functional yet aesthetically pleasing perforated panels that help to soften the structure’s appearance while adding an interesting touch.

The five-months-long project was completed in March 2021.
